I worked in market research for twelve years prior to starting TS Research Assistant, including nine years as a Research Manager at a major High Street bank.

In 2001 I graduated with a BSc (Hons) Psychology from the University of Leeds, and I have fifteen years’ experience in research in the financial, education and social research sectors. My career has spanned everything from recruiting respondents and coding questionnaires to influencing business decisions through insight – and I have worked both Clientside and agency side.

I started a transcription business in 2016. After more than a year of working with independent researchers and learning what they need support with, I launched my Virtual Research Assistant business in 2017.

When I started my business, I had two primary school-aged children. I blinked somewhere along the way and I’m now mum to a teen boy and a tween girl, and I have the smallest feet in the house. In 2020 we added two guinea pigs to our family, and later that year we adopted Milo the rescue kitten. In 2021 we bit the bullet on something we had wanted for a decade – and got a border terrier called Wilbur.

When I’m not busy supporting independent researchers, you can often find me walking in the sunshine or snow with my family and Wilbur, or out in my garden where I love to grow vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers.
